OPENINGS:

ON-AIR PERSONALITY / PART-TIME 

 

JOB HOURS:

  • Part-Time, 28-hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends.

  • This is an IN=PERSON position. Must physically be at studio for shift.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to the following:)

  • Perform daily 4-hour show.

  • Assist the production department in voicing and producing commercials as needed.

  • Assist in promotions and events when/where needed (occasional weekends/nights could be involved).

  • Perform periodic on-location “van stops” and “live remotes”.

    • Talent fees may vary

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong on-air presence with a clear, engaging speaking voice and natural storytelling ability

  • Passion for music, pop culture, and connecting with listeners in an authentic way

  • Ability to prepare, deliver, and adapt live or recorded content with confidence and creativity

  • Comfortable operating broadcast equipment, studio software, and digital audio systems

  • Basic audio production skills, including recording, editing, and segment prep

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to take direction and collaborate with programming staff

  • Professional attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic

  • Availability for flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

 

COMPENSATION:

  • Hourly rate dependent on experience and availability.

  • Talent fees when applicable for paid events

OFFICE MANAGER
 

Location: Alpena, Michigan
Employment Type: Full-Time

Midwestern Broadcasting in Alpena is looking for an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Office Manager to help keep our busy radio station running smoothly.

This position is a key part of our local team, supporting daily office operations, assisting clients, working with staff across departments, and helping maintain the professional, friendly atmosphere our listeners and advertisers expect from our location radio stations.

 

Responsibilities

The Office Manager will help oversee and support the day-to-day business operations of the station, including:

  • Greeting visitors, clients, prize winners, and station guests

  • Answering phones and directing calls appropriately

  • Assisting with billing, invoicing, payments, and account records

  • Supporting the sales team with contracts, orders, affidavits, and client paperwork

  • Maintaining organized office files, records, supplies, and station materials

  • Assisting with prize fulfillment, contest paperwork, and listener communication

  • Coordinating with management, programming, traffic, sales, and promotions staff

  • Helping ensure deadlines are met and office procedures are followed

  • Providing general administrative support as needed

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities

  • A professional and positive attitude

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and spreadsheets

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Previous office, administrative, bookkeeping, or customer service experience preferred

  • Experience in media, advertising, or broadcasting is helpful, but not required

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE - RADIO ADVERTISING SALES

Midwestern Broadcasting is looking for a driven, creative, and outgoing Account Executive to join our radio advertising sales team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, helping local businesses grow, and creating effective marketing campaigns across some of Northern Michigan’s most recognized radio brands.

 

As an Account Executive, you’ll work directly with local businesses to understand their goals, develop advertising solutions, and sell radio, digital, event, and promotional marketing opportunities that deliver results.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and develop new business through calls, appointments, networking, referrals, and community involvement.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional clients.

  • Create customized advertising campaigns using our radio stations, digital platforms, sponsorships, promotions, and events.

  • Present marketing ideas and proposals to business owners and decision-makers.

  • Manage client accounts from initial contact through campaign completion.

  • Work with our creative and production teams to help develop effective commercials and marketing messages.

  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.

  • Maintain accurate records of client activity, proposals, orders, and follow-ups.

  • Represent our radio group professionally at station events, remotes, promotions, and community functions.

  • Stay informed on market trends, local business activity, and competitive media options.

Ideal Candidate:

The right person is self-motivated, organized, personable, and comfortable talking with business owners. You should enjoy solving problems, presenting ideas, and helping clients understand how consistent advertising can keep their business top-of-mind with consumers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Prior sales experience preferred, but not required.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Ability to prospect, generate leads, and close new business.

  • Comfortable working independently and managing a client list.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn sales/account management software.

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.

  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.

  • Knowledge of Northern Michigan businesses and communities is a plus.

Compensation:

Competitive compensation package that may include base pay, commission, bonuses, and benefits. Compensation is based on experience and performance.
